TIER Questions and Answers concerning the booking and payment of TIER E-Scooters
TIER is becoming Dott – what does this mean for goodride?

TIER will merge with Dott to become a leader in shared mobility in Europe together.

In the coming weeks, TIER scooters will disappear from German cities and will gradually be reintroduced in the new Dott design. This also means that the scooters will be removed from the goodride app and will no longer be available.

The first TIER scooters will be taken off the streets as early as calendar week 42. Currently, we unfortunately cannot offer Dott vehicles in the goodride app yet, but we are working hard to make them available to you soon in the usual quality.

Your ride history, invoices, and customer service tickets for TIER rides will remain accessible in the goodride app for a certain period.

How do I start a ride with an e-scooter or bike?

Find a TIER e-scooter/bike or search for the nearest available one on the map. Scan the QR code with the QR scanner on the map. The button is located at the bottom right. This unlocks the TIER e-scooter /bike and the ride can start.

Why don’t I see any TIER e-scooters/bikes near my location?
It might be that TIER doesn’t offer vehicles in your area. Alternatively, try zooming in further on the map to see if any TIER e-scooters or bikes appear.
Additionally, the TIER scooters are gradually being removed from the app in the cities as TIER transitions to Dott. Unfortunately, we currently do not have Dott vehicles available. We will keep you updated on any developments!
Where can I use the TIER e-scooters/bikes?

You can use the TIER e-scooters/bikes via the goodride app in all TIER rental areas throughout Germany.

How long can I ride?

When you ride TIER e-scooters/bikes, the maximum rental time is 1 or 2 hours, depending on the city.

When the limit is reached, the ride will automatically end. However, you can simply scan the vehicle again and start a new ride.

Please note that the maximum rental duration also includes the time you pause your ride.

If the vehicle stops moving, the ride will automatically end after 30 minutes.

Can I book multiple rides at the same time?

Unfortunately, this feature is not available in our app at the moment.

Do the TIER e-scooters/bikes have a cell phone holder?

Indeed they do! They even charge your cell phone while using them.

Please note that the use of the cell phone holder is at your own risk.

I cannot finish my ride. What can I do?

Zoom in to your current location and check if you are within the business area (highlighted in green).

Once you are driving the vehicle within the business area:

  1. fold down the stand.
  2. press “End drive” and make sure that the vehicle is successfully locked.

If you continue to receive an error message in the goodride app and are unable to end your ride, please reach out to TIER via the chat option in our TIER help menu.

What can I do if I forget to complete the ride?

Please reach out to TIER via the chat option in our TIER help menu.

I have paused my ride, but cannot resume it. What can I do?

If you have paused your vehicle and cannot resume your ride, please:

  1. make sure your internet connection is stable.
  2. open the app again
  3. Press “Unlock” one more time.

If you still can’t resume the ride, please reach out to TIER via the chat option in our TIER help menu.

How can I use TIER e-scooters/bikes in a route?

Once you have entered your destination, you can select TIER e-scooters/bikes in the route selection with the gear button and then you will be shown routes that include trips with TIER scooters/bikes. When you arrive at the point in the route where you switch to the scooter or bike you can unlock the scooter/bike as usual and park it again after the ride.

Can I reserve TIER vehicles via the goodride app?

Unfortunately, this function is not yet possible, it is exclusively reserved for our mobility partner TIER.

Where can I park?

When you reach your destination, please note if you are within the business area (marked in green on the map).

We recommend you to check the map before your trip to make sure you can park at your destination address without any problems.
